There were 428 reported sales in areas 1-5 in Saskatoon during the month of May, a decrease of 7% from May 2012 which saw 459 sales. This is a decrease of 3% from last month which had 439 reported sales. Areas 6-9, which include acreages and homes in the communities surrounding Saskatoon, reported 116 sales during the month, a decrease of 15% from the same period last year when there were 137 sales.
The average selling price of a home in areas 1-5 increased 5% from last May to $355,405. Areas 6-9 saw home prices rise 7% over the last last year to $303,962.
There were 897 new listings in Saskatoon during the month, an increase of 13% from May 2012 when there were 793 new homes listed for sale in the city. The total number of active listings currently sits at 1,314. Areas 6-9 saw a large jump in new listings this month as well with 328 new listings, an increase of 18% from last year's 277. There is currently 1,314 active listings in areas 6-9.
There are currently 617 Realtors with the Saskatoon Region Association of Realtors, an increase of 4% from last year when there were 593 licensed agents serving the region.
