There were 376 reported sales in areas 1-5 of Saskatoon during August, an increase of one sale from August 2012 which saw 375 reported sales. This is a decrease of 19% from last month when there were 463 reported sales. Areas 6-9, which includes the communities surrounding Saskatoon as well as acreages, reported 115 sales during August, an increase of 21% from the same period last year which had 95 sales. This represents a decrease of 13% from July when there were 132 sales.
The average selling price of a home in areas 1-5 during the month was $343,594, up 1% from August 2012. The average selling price of a home in areas 6-9 rose 11% from last year to $287,020.
There were 740 homes listed for sale in Saskatoon during August, an increase of 21% from last year's period when there were 611 new listings to hit the market. This brings the current number of active listings to 1,373. Areas 6-9 saw 263 new listings hit the market, up 5% from the same period last year when there were 250.
There are currently 611 licensed Realtors with the Saskatoon Regional Association of Realtors, a slight increase from last August when there was 608 licensees in the region.
