There were 344 sales reported in areas 1-5 in Saskatoon during the month of March, a decrease of 6% from the 366 sales reported in March 2012. This represents an increase of 30% from last month which had 265 reported sales. Areas 6-9, which includes the communities surrounding Saskatoon, had 114 reported sales, an increase of 10% from the 100 reported sales during the same period last year. This is an increase of 32% from February which had 76 sales.
The average selling price of a home in areas 1-5 was $336,068, an increase of 3% from last year. Areas 6-9 saw an increase of 14% from March 2012 with the average selling price of a home being $322,484.
There were 613 homes listed for sale in Saskatoon during March, down 3% from last year when 631 homes were listed. This brings the total number of active listings in the city to 1,081. The surrounding area had 238 new properties listed for sale during the month, down 10% from March 2012.
There are currently 614 licensed Realtors with the Saskatoon Region Association of Realtors, an increase of 7% from last year when there were 575 licensed agents in the region.
