There were 359 reported sales in areas 1-5 of Saskatoon during September, an increase of 9% from September 2012 when there were 329 reported sales in the city. This is a decrease of 5% from last month which saw 376 sales in those areas. Areas 6-9, which includes acreages as well as the communities surrounding Saskatoon, reported 82 sales during the period, a decrease of 14% from last year when there were 95. This is a decrease of 29% from August when there were 115 sales during the month.
The average selling price of a home in Saskatoon rose 7% from last year to $342,983. Areas 6-9 saw an increase to $339,580, up 16% from September 2012.
There were 740 homes listed for sale in areas 1-5 during the month, a significant increase of 27% from the same month last year when there were only 582 new listings. This brings the total number of active listings in Saskatoon to 1,391. Areas 6-9 saw 320 new listings during September, an increase of 14% from last year when there were 280 new listings added to the market.
There are currently 611 licensed Realtors with the Saskatoon Regional Association of Realtors, a marginal increase from last year when there were 606 licensed Realtors trading in the region.
