Avalon is a quiet neighbourhood found in south-central Saskatoon. Development and residential construction happened between 1946 and 1960. Bungalow style homes are quite common in this neighbourhood. You will also find several low-rise apartment buildings, several of which buildings have been converted into apartment style condominiums for individual ownership. Like any other neighbourhood in Saskatoon, you will find several large beautiful parks with playground equipment and sports fields.
The Avalon Community Association offers fitness classes, sports programs, arts and crafts, and other programs for all ages to enjoy. It also maintains a community skating rink for hockey, ice skating and other winter activities.
Avalon has some retail and commercial development, the most popular being the Avalon Shopping Centre which houses local retailers, smaller restaurants and a recycling facility.
