Caswell Hill is a neighbourhood rich with history. The neighbourhood was named after one of its first homesteaders, Robert Caswell. The first house was built in 1905. You will find a diverse mix of character-style houses and smaller wartime homes. In the early 1900s there were two realtors, J.H. Holmes and John Ashworth, who purchased a large parcel of land. They subdivided the land and sold it; however, donated 10 acres to the City which is now known as Ashworth-Holmes Park. The lots they sold off are what is now the Caswell Hill neighbourhood. The Saskatoon Railway Station, built in 1907, still stands today. The building now houses smaller businesses and a restaurant.

 

For those interested in advancing their education, SIAST, the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, is close to Caswell Hill. SIAST offers over 160 diploma courses and over 30 trade related programs.

 

Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre is also nearby. You can take advantage of the public swimming, use the indoor climbing wall and the fitness room which includes weights and cardio equipment. Harry Bailey is home to many club activities: speed swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming.

 

Caswell Hill is closely located to Downtown Saskatoon. Additional amenities can be found along 33rd Street West: grocery, retail, restaurants, general business services and much more.
