Hudson Bay Park is located in northwest Saskatoon. This neighbourhood was developed between 1940 and 1960 when there was a housing shortage in Saskatoon post-World Wars. Hudson Bay Park recognized and honoured Saskatoon's pioneers by naming streets after notable individuals who contributed to the city. Bowerman Street is named after Mr. Allen Bowerman who was a prominent developer, Valens Drive was named after Dr. John A. Valens and John East Avenue named after John East Iron Works. These are just a few of the prominent pioneers who made wonderful contributions to Saskatoon.
There are retail and business services close to Hudson Bay Park. A full service strip mall with grocery and gas station can be found on 33rd Street West. As well, the community has an active "Citizens on Patrol" group; a group of dedicated individuals who have logged over 150 volunteer hours within the last year keeping the community safe.
