King George is a neighbourhood found in central Saskatoon on the west side of the river within the Core Neighbourhoods Suburban Development Area. Most of the homes were built between 1907 and 1960. The residents of King George are working together to revitalize the neighbourhood and unique programs are available to the residents to help with cultural education and an overall well-being for the community.
One of the borders of King George is the South Saskatchewan River, providing fantastic views. The neighbourhood’s parks offer many amenities. It is home to the small St. Andrews Park as well as Victoria Park. Victoria Park, which is partly in the neighbourhood of Riversdale, features badminton, tennis, lawn bowling, a boat launch used by numerous boating clubs, an outdoor pool, a skate park and courts for basketball and volleyball.
The King George neighbourhood does not have many amenities. Most retail and general business services are found along 22nd Street West and Downtown Saskatoon.
