Until 2008, Parkridge was the farthest western neighbourhood in Saskatoon. Since then, the Blairmore Suburban Centre has taken that title. Parkridge saw the majority of its growth in the 1980s; however, the neighbourhood is still incomplete. A handful of new houses are added to the neighbourhood every year.
The benefits of being the neighbouring community to the Blairmore Suburban Centre allows residents to take advantage of its many amenities. Recreational and fitness facilities are offered at the Shaw Centre and a variety of retail outlets and services, including Walmart, other big box stores, restaurants and financial institutions are available in the shopping centre. As well, Confederation Mall is easily accessible with more retail and commercial options in just a short drive.
