Willowgrove is a newer family friendly neighbourhood in northeast Saskatoon that is continually growing and being developed. The birth of this neighbourhood began in 2003 when the City of Saskatoon spearheaded this community by selling bare lots to individuals, families and smaller developers who committed to the architectural plan and development of Willowgrove. You’ll find mixed-use in the residential areas: single-family homes, townhouses and apartment style condominiums. The urban growth strategy for Willowgrove was designed to house over 8,000 residents with access to new commercial, retail, leisure and sporting facilities and general business development.
This self contained neighbourhood will soon begin building a large state-of-the-art elementary school - an integrated public and Catholic school separated by common areas (opening Fall 2014). It's a better use of space and leaves a smaller ecological footprint; however, brings an entire community together creating stronger relationships amongst our youth. The combined school systems in Saskatoon is a relatively new concept; however, has demonstrated great success with two previously built high schools.
Willowgrove has a joint community association with University Heights providing planned activities, organized sports and social events. As well, take the time to enjoy the community centre, interactive parks and green space that this family orientated community provides.
